Are we right for you?

Chronic pain conditions are complex and because of this there is often no one simple intervention or medication that gets rid of the pain completely. However, we have found we can make a big difference in people’s lives by working alongside the patient as a team, allowing enough time, applying our expertise, and working towards shared goals. Those who get the best results with us are willing to learn and understand the neuroscience of pain, take responsibility for their role in their recovery, are open-minded and engage with multiple modalities of treatment. Our programs may include medications and interventions, physical therapies and exercise, psychological and self-management strategies, and techniques for managing the autonomic nervous system, such as relaxation and biofeedback. If you are unsure if this approach is right for you, then please discuss more with your referrer or GP.

Conditions We Treat

We manage all chronic pain conditions and complex rehabilitation needs, with dedicated pathways for the following conditions

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Due to the potential severity of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and the benefit of early specialist management, we prioritise these cases.

Musculoskeletal pain

We manage a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including post-traumatic and post-surgical pain related to the back, and upper and lower limbs.

Pelvic and abdominal pain

We have a specialist service for chronic pelvic pain with Dr Karen Joseph, New Zealand’s only Gynaecologist and Specialist Pain Medicine Physician.
